What caused this issue

The discrepancy in device locations can be caused by:

  • Running another VPN at the same time as our VPN app.
  • The website, service, or app you are visiting has outdated data.
  • You downloaded and are using a torrent app or service on a device that does not support it.

How to resolve this issue

  1. On the Malwarebytes app dashboard, confirm that the VPN is toggled On.
  2. Turn off other VPNs running on your device.
  3. Visit https://www.geolocation.com.
  4. Verify that your device's location matches the selected VPN server location.

If your VPN server location still doesn't match the VPN server you selected, contact support to speak to an agent.
