The Support screen displays Browser Guard version information, troubleshooting options, and links to Malwarebytes company resources and policies.
To view this screen on Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers, open the Browser Guard extension dashboard and click the menu iconin the upper-right corner of the screen, then click Support. On the Safari browser, the Support screen is accessible in the app's main screen.
View your product information
- Malwarebytes Browser Guard version: The app version currently installed on your browser.
- Check for database updates: Clicking this button checks for protection database updates and updates your app if any updates are available. If an error occurs when updating the database, try again after a few minutes. If the error persists, contact our Support team.
Manage additional settings
- Visit Malwarebytes website: Clicking this link opens the Malwarebytes website where you can find more information on where to download and install more of our security products, view our pricing plans, and obtain links to helpful resources. Not available on Safari browser.
- Browser Guard support: Clicking this link opens the Browser Guard support section in the Malwarebytes help center, where you can find help articles with more details on how to use the Browser Guard extension. Not available on Safari browser.
- Product user guides: Clicking this link opens the Browser Guard content guide article in the help center, where you can click on several links to find more information in articles about the highlighted feature or setting. Not available on Safari browser.
- Malwarebytes Labs news: Clicking this link opens the Malwarebytes Labs page, where you can find blogs, news articles, and how-to articles on anything security, malware, and anti-virus related. Not available on Safari browser.
- Privacy policy: Clicking this link opens the Policy for Malwarebytes Browser Guard page, where you can find more information on your privacy rights and how we use your information to help protect and ensure the safety of your browsing experience. Not available on Safari browser.
- End User License Agreement (EULA): Clicking this link opens the Malwarebytes Software License Agreement in a new browser tab. Read this page if you want more information on Malwarebytes terms and conditions, licensing, and other information. Not available on Safari browser.
- Download debug logs: Malwarebytes Support may require debug, or diagnostic, logs from your device to troubleshoot technical issues with Browser Guard. Clicking Download debug logs will generate and download the log file.
- Clear Browser Guard storage: Clicking this link will reset your Browser Guard installation and restore the app to a newly-installed state, clearing all previously updated settings. Not available on Safari browser.
- Share anonymous detection and device data with Malwarebytes: Toggle this setting on to allow Browser Guard to gather detection and block telemetry to help Malwarebytes improve the protection provided. The information gathered does not include private or sensitive information. Toggle this setting off if you do not want to provide us with telemetry data. Not available on Safari browser.
