Uninstall Malwarebytes for Windows and Mac

Removing the Malwarebytes app is a breeze, no matter which operating system you are using. If you are running Windows or macOS, you can easily uninstall the application from your device in just a few simple steps.

Uninstall the app from a Windows device

To uninstall the app from a Windows device:

1. Start by searching for the app using the Start menu, Settings, or the Control Panel. For more information, see Uninstalling or removing apps and programs in Windows.
2. On the app's Before you uninstall page, select a reason for uninstalling. If you don't have a specific reason, select No special reason.
3. Click Next →.
4. Click Uninstall Malwarebytes.
5. Share your feedback by typing into the box or skip this step.
6. Click Submit and uninstall Malwarebytes.
7. Click Uninstall Malwarebytes.
8. The Malwarebytes uninstaller pop up appears. Click Uninstall.
9. The app will begin uninstalling from your Windows device. When complete, click Done.

Uninstall the app from a macOS device

To uninstall the app from a macOS device, you can either use your Finder to find and remove the app or choose to uninstall directly from the app. Read the following article on How to delete apps on your Mac or follow the instructions below:

1. Click on the Malwarebytes icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen on your macOS device.
2. Click Open Malwarebytes to open the app. 
3. In the menu bar at the top left of your screen near the Apple icon , click Help.
4. In the dropdown menu, click Uninstall Malwarebytes.
5. A prompt appears and asks you to confirm that you want to uninstall the app.
6. Click I'll risk it.
7. On the following screen, enter your Mac's password and then click OK.
8. The app will automatically uninstall from your Mac.
