Once installed Browser Guard immediately protects your online browsing experience from ads and trackers, malware, and scams. Expand the app by clicking the Browser Guard icon in your browser's toolbar and learn more about blocked items.
The Current website screen displays when you open Browser Guard. Features of the Current website screen vary, depending on what browser you're using.
Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers
The Current website screen displays:
- The level of your protection on the site you are currently on.
- The Protection tab which shows the site settings for the site you are currently on. These settings can be toggled on and off. Disabling any of these settings may limit your browsing security, so only toggle off protections for websites that you know are trusted. Protection settings include:
- Ads/Tracker
- Malware
- Scam
- The Blocked items tab which shows the number of ads, trackers, and malicious code blocked by the app. You can select Allow on this site to unblock an item by clicking the menu icon
next to each item. Only allow items for websites that you know are trusted.
Safari browsers
The Current website screen displays:
- The On/Off protection toggle is On by default. Toggling it Off disables protection features for all websites.
- The Website toggle is Off by default. Toggling it On adds the current website to the Allow list. Only allow websites that you know are trusted.
- The Protection features, on the left side of the screen, can be toggled on and off. Turning off any of these features may limit your browsing security, so only toggle off protections for websites that you know are trusted. Protection features include:
- Ads/Trackers
- Malware
- Scams
