General Settings in Malwarebytes for Android

The General settings page on your Malwarebytes app for Android allows you to manage your data, memory, and change your app's theme from light to dark. Learn how to configure these features based on your preferences.

Share your data with Malwarebytes

You can choose to share your app's data with Malwarebytes to help improve the Malwarebytes app experience. All data shared is anonymous and will only be used to improve the app.

To enable Data share:

1. Open the app on your Android device.
2. Tap Settings .
3. Tap General.
4. On the General settings screen, toggle on Data share.

Enable memory caching

You can boost your app's performance by turning on memory caching. This feature lets the app run more tasks in the background, using more of your device's memory.

If you have an older Android device, we do not recommend enabling memory caching as it can instead slow down the app's performance.

To enable memory caching:

1. Open the app on your Android device.
2. Tap Settings .
3. Tap General.
4. On the General settings screen, toggle on Memory caching.

Turn on Dark Mode

Malwarebytes for Android lets you switch between Light Mode and Dark Mode to view your protection based on your preference.

To turn on Dark Mode:

1. Open the app on your Android device.
2. Tap Settings .
3. Tap General.
4. On the General settings screen, tap Theme.
5. In the pop-up, tap Dark. The pop-up will close and change themes immediately.
