Trusted Advisor overview for Desktop Security

Trusted Advisor is a tool that monitors your device's security and provides recommendations for improvement. It also sends notifications to remind you about any unresolved actions.

How your Protection Score is calculated

The Protection score is shown as a gauge on the main dashboard, along with a score and a rating. Your score is calculated based on the features available to you. When you turn off a feature, your Protection score lowers. When you turn on a feature, your Protection score goes up.

Depending on your Protection score, your rating can be Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, or Poor. If you have an Excellent score (100), you've enabled all of the app's protection features available to you with your subscription. Congrats!

Resolve recommendations on the Trusted Advisor details page

On the Trusted Advisor details page, you'll see a list of recommendations you can resolve to boost your Protection score. To view the Trusted Advisor details page and resolve a recommendation:

1. Open the app.
2. Click the Trusted Advisor tile.
3. Click on a recommendation to view the resolution.
4. Follow the instructions on screen to resolve the recommendation.

Once a recommendation is resolved, you can view it and other resolved recommendations by clicking Active security overview.

Ignore recommendations on the Trusted Advisor details page

When you click on a recommendation, you can select Ignore to stop seeing it. Ignored recommendations appear under Ignored recommendations and can be removed later. 

To remove items from the ignored list:

1. Click Ignored recommendations.
2. Select the item you wish to restore.
3. In the item description, click Remove from ignored list.
