When auto-renewal is turned on, the payment method on file is charged automatically at the end of a trial period or on the subscription expiration date. To cancel a subscription for a Windows or macOS device, turn off auto-renewal in your Malwarebytes account. Canceled subscriptions remain active and valid until their expiration date.
If you have a subscription for an Android or iOS device, you will need to cancel your subscription through Google Play or Apple App Store. For more information, see Cancel, pause, or change a subscription on Google Play or If you want to cancel a subscription from Apple.
To turn off auto-renewal and cancel a subscription:
- Sign in to your account.
- In the left side bar, click Manage Subscription

- Find your desired subscription and click the Billing & payment link in blue.
- In the Billing information tab, click Edit auto-renewal. A pop up appears.
- In the pop up, click Turn auto-renewal off.
- You are prompted to select a reason for canceling auto-renewal. Select the reason and click Send.
- You will receive a confirmation email once auto-renewal is turned off.
Cancelling trials
Some subscription trials require you to provide payment information. You can cancel a trial by turning off auto-renewal in your Malwarebytes account before the end of the trial period. Other subscription trials do not require payment information and can be cancelled from the app. For more information, see Deactivate device from your subscription.
If you have a subscription trial for an Android or iOS device, you will need to manage your trial via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
