Malwarebytes icon statuses on Windows devices

The Malwarebytes icon in your Windows system tray uses colored dots to show the status of Malwarebytes and the VPN. Use the table below to learn more about what each status dot means.

Icon Status Description
image-20240403-125645.png Default The default icon shows when there are no alerts and the VPN is not connected.

The red dot shows when you have one or more security alerts. You may get a security alert if:

  • You have never run a scan.
  • One or more Real-Time Protection layers are turned off.
  • Your internet access is blocked by the Kill switch setting.
