Desktop Security for Windows provides the option to run a Deep Scan for a more detailed and complete search of potential threats on your device. A Deep Scan checks your files against a comprehensive malware database in order to identify and catch even the most obscure threats. We recommend only running a Deep Scan after blocking or removing malware from your device.
Note: Because Deep Scans require additional system resources and advanced detection techniques, they can take more time to complete than other scans, and your device's performance may be impacted for the extended duration.
To run a Deep Scan on your device:
- Open the app.
- Next to the Scan button on the main dashboard, click on the vertical three dots
.
Note: Do not click on the Scan button, as this will run a Threat Scan. - In the drop-down menu, click Advanced Scan.
- Click on Deep Scan. The scan will start automatically.
- Once the scan is complete, the Malwarebytes icon will flash in your system tray.
You can open the app to view the scan report and quarantine any threats that are detected.
