Unable to access content with VPN enabled for Teams

  • Compatible with:
  • Windows,
  • macOS

If you're using the VPN that comes with Malwarebytes for Teams, you might run into issues accessing certain company resources. That’s because some apps and websites are set up to work only when you're connected to your organization's official VPN. If something isn’t loading or looks different than expected, try turning off Malwarebytes VPN and switching to your company-provided VPN instead.

How this issue affects you

When trying to access a company resource, website, or app while Malwarebytes VPN is enabled, you cannot access the content or are redirected to a different location.

What caused this issue

Certain company resources, websites, or apps restrict VPN users' access based on IP address for security, copyright, or licensing reasons. Malwarebytes VPN assigns rotational (dynamic) IP addresses instead of static IP addresses. Without a static IP address, VPN traffic and connections cannot be authorized or granted access to company resources.

How to resolve this issue

To access the company resource, website, or app, temporarily toggle VPN Off. If you still have access issues after turning VPN off, contact Support.
