How this issue affects you
When accessing a website, service, or app, the location displayed does not match the selected VPN server location in Desktop Security.
What caused this issue
Here are some factors that can cause incorrect device locations to appear:
- The website you are visiting has incorrect or outdated IP geolocation data.
- Running another VPN at the same time as our VPN app.
How to resolve this issue
Check to see that our VPN is working properly:
- On the Desktop Security dashboard, confirm that VPN is toggled On.
- Turn off other VPNs running on your device.
- Verify that your device's location matches the selected VPN server location. If it does not, continue with the next step.
- Visit https://www.geolocation.com.
- Note: IP geolocation depends on the service you are using and several factors. While we recommend verifying with an additional source, the results may differ.
- Verify that your device's location matches the selected VPN server location. If it matches, our VPN is working properly.
If the website you are visiting still shows that your location doesn't match the VPN server location you selected, the website has an issue with its IP geolocation data.
