Detect threats with Scam Guard in your Malwarebytes account

Scam Guard is Malwarebytes' AI-powered chatbot trained to help you catch scams, fraud, and phishing attempts. When you share a suspicious text message, email, pop up notification, or website domain with Scam Guard, the AI bot analyzes the text for potential security threats, cross checks with our protection databases, and provides recommendations based on what it finds.

Share a suspicious email, link, or text with Scam Guard

If you have received a suspicious email, pop up, or were sent a mysterious link, take a screenshot of the item and follow the steps below to report it to Scam Guard.

  1. Sign in to your Malwarebytes account.
  2. Click the Scam Guard icon in the left side bar.
  3. Click Ask me anything, then start a conversation with Scam Guard by tapping one of the prompts, or typing in a message.
  4. Click the paper clipAttachment.svgto attach a screenshot of a text or email. Your File Explorer or Finder opens.
  5. Find the screenshot you want to share, then click Open.
  6. Click the blue arrow to share your screenshot with Scam Guard.
  7. After a few moments, Scam Guard will tell you if your item is suspicious or a known threat.

After you share a phone number, email address, message, or link that was found to be suspicious, Scam Guard may ask if you want to submit the item to Malwarebytes' threat intelligence team for further analysis. Confirm with the chatbot if you would like your item to be submitted for analysis and added to Malwarebytes' protection database.
