Malwarebytes Privacy VPN keeps your personal information private by encrypting your traffic as you browse the internet. Using a VPN helps prevent threats from figuring out who you are, where you are, and what you’re browsing.
Cybersecurity should be accessible for everyone, so Malwarebytes also has a limited version of our Privacy VPN that you can use for free on a Windows device and with your Standard subscription on an Android device. This limited version of the VPN has all the same features as the VPN included in our Plus or Ultimate subscriptions, but with a few requirements. The requirements are:
- You must be on the latest version of Malwarebytes. Follow the steps in the articles below to check your app for updates to make sure you're on the latest version:
- You must have a Malwarebytes account and be signed in to use the free VPN.
- The limited VPN will significantly reduce its speed once you reach 10 GB of data usage. For unlimited data usage without reduced speed, you'll need to upgrade your subscription.
- The limited VPN has fewer servers available. For access to Malwarebytes' full list of servers, you'll need to upgrade your subscription.
Heads up - To use the limited VPN on your Android device, you must have a Standard subscription.
Sign in to use VPN for free
To get started using Malwarebytes' limited Privacy VPN, you will need a Malwarebytes account. If you do not have an account, see Create your Malwarebytes account.
If you already have an account:
- Open the Malwarebytes app on your Windows or Android device.
- On the main dashboard, toggle the VPN on.
- Tap Continue with Email or click Sign in and use your Malwarebytes account email and password to sign in.
- Once you are signed in, Malwarebytes limited Privacy VPN is now on and ready to use!
If you need more help turning on the VPN, see the following articles:
Reduced speed when reaching data limits
With the limited version of Privacy VPN, you can track your remaining data before its speed slows. Data usage is tied to your account, not each individual device. The data limit resets 30 days after turning on the VPN. You can pause the VPN anytime to save data, and Malwarebytes will alert you when you're near the 10 GB limit.
