Apple has officially ended support for macOS 11 (Big Sur). Once an operating system has reached end of support, it is more vulnerable to attacks and may experience issues with app performance.
Malwarebytes performs best on up-to-date devices. Starting September 2026, Malwarebytes for Mac will no longer support macOS 11. The latest app version with advanced protection won't be available on unsupported systems. Macs running macOS 11 won't be able to update to the newest Malwarebytes version.
What this means for your subscription
Nothing changes with your subscription.
If you have Malwarebytes on a macOS 11 device or lower, you will continue to receive regular threat intelligence updates for a limited time. We recommend updating your macOS version when available to continue to get app updates once Malwarebytes stops support in September.
