Malwarebytes subscriptions can be used across different devices, platforms, and products. You may need to deactivate or remove a device from your subscription:
- To free up a seat when you've reached your subscription's device limit.
- To repair, replace, or sell your device.
- To transfer the subscription to another device. For more information, see Transfer your subscription to a different device.
- To change the subscription on your device.
TIP - Deactivating a device does not uninstall the app from your device.
Option 1: Deactivate the device from your Malwarebytes account
A Malwarebytes account is required to perform the steps below. To create an account, see Create your Malwarebytes account.
- Click here to manage your devices.
- Under Activated Devices, find the device you want to deactivate. Then click on the three dots
.
- Click Deactivate.
- Click Deactivate again to confirm your choice.
Option 2: Deactivate the device from the app
Deactivating signs you out of your subscription on this device. It does not cancel your subscription.
To deactivate on your Windows device:
- Open the app.
- Click the person icon in the left sidebar.
- On the My subscription page, click Deactivate this device.
- Click Yes to confirm.
- In the pop-up, click Yes.
To deactivate on your macOS device:
- Open the app.
- Click the person icon in the top right corner.
- Click My subscription.
- Click Deactivate this device.
- Click Deactivate to confirm.
